2013 VIPASSANA RETREAT SCHEDULE

Additional Info:
1) Yogis are encouraged to stay at least 10 days or more (although it is not compulsory).
2) It would be better for new yogis to come from the beginning of the retreat (although it is not compulsory).
3) All yogis are encouraged to wear plain white t-shirts or blouses. For bottoms, single dark-colored comfortable long pants, sarong or below-knee length skirts during his/her retreat period. These are the Dhamma Talks from Matang 10-day retreat in November 2012. The topics are the 7 Factors of Enlightenment. Each factor of Enlightenment can be develop specifically whenever it is needed. The talks will guide the vipassana yogis to understand and cultivate the practice to a deeper level. They will be very useful for all yogis, new or seasoned alike.

Dhamma Lectures from KKB April 2012 Retreat

These are the lectures from KKB April Retreat. Basically they can be divided into 4 categories.

1. The Essentials for Development. These includes the detailed instruction of walking and sitting, meditation, the performance of daily activities and the discipline aspect of a yogi. Also a lecture on the Nature of Mindfulness.

2. The Questions and Answers. 4 Sessions of Q & A which the residing yogis put forward to Bhante regarding on Vipassana subjects and a few general questions.

3. The 10 Armies of Mara. These multiple lectures was based on Padhana Sutta, the Discourse on Exertion, which is found in Sutta Nipata. The ten are 1) Sensual desire 2) Discontent 3) Hunger and Thirst 4) Craving 5) Sloth and Torpor 6) Fear 7) Skeptical Doubt 8) Conceit and Ingratitude 9) Gain, Fame, Honour, Prestige Wrongly Acquired 10) Self-Exaltation and Disparaging of others. Detailed explanation was given on each Mara and how to overcome them while in retreat and in daily life.

4. Guided Meditation. A short session of guided meditation after Dhamma Lectures on Metta, Death, Foulness of the Body and Equanimity.
